*glowers puzzledly* My knee hurts. This is irritating.

We had a meeting today, including the owner/founder of the company. I was perhaps too sassy. The Marketing director said I had been "impressive". I feel I may not have quite been sassy enough, upon reflection; I raised most of the legitimate objections I could to the new policy I may or may not agree with, but not the most important one, which is the overwhelming number of additional man-hours it will demand of the Customer Service dep't. But perhaps it will force me to transition from Sales to CS, which would actually be OK with me...

... provided I don't get too many more calls like the one this morning, where a woman spoke at me for 45 minutes saying she had "questions" but not actually asking any questions. Here's a hint, and I've learned this through difficult experience-- I wasn't born knowing this. My hint:
If you want someone to answer a question, give them a question they can answer.
I know, it's harder than you'd think.
But if you end a lot of conversations with the inward thought, "Well, that was uninformative, and she seemed pretty snippy by the end," perhaps you should consider what you're saying. If you just spew unscientific and seemingly random accusations at someone, in the guise of "questions about their product," you're not going to get very courteous answers. On the other hand, questions like, "Why do you say your machine cleans 1500 square feet when these websites say it only does 400?"
I can answer that.

Ug. Anyway.
Meeting tonight, at my house. Oddly this is the first social anything I've had at my house, even my mother-out-law coming over, since we redecorated. This is probably about the third social engagement I've had at my house ever, maybe the fourth since I've known Z. Weird. I used to always host parties...
It's not really social, though. It's a committee meeting. Still and all. I dusted, which I haven't done in years. Just because it seemed like the right thing to do. Hopefully I won't get home to find that Chita has thrown up on the couch again. That's not usually helpful.

The bonus is that the house, already somewhat clean because of the nuclear bomb of Redecorating incinerating much of the trash usually littered about, is now pre-cleaned for the Imminent Descent Of Family at Thanksgiving, about which I am terribly excited. So perhaps i won't be freaking out on Thanksgiving Tuesday. I might have to dust again by then. It depends how much Chita sheds.
Actually it depends how much Chita pukes-- that couch slipcover gives off lint something awful every time you take it off and put it back on the couch.
