dragonlady7: self-portrait but it's mostly the DSLR in my hands in the mirror (comegetsome)

I don't do things like this much, but this one seemed like good food for thought. Whether anyone else will be at all interested, I couldn't say, but I was.
Seen in [livejournal.com profile] docbrite's journal.

1. Who eats more?

I have tried to be on the "Eat less than the skinny dude" diet for five years but it hasn't really worked-- I tend to snack more. But we eat approximately the same, in theory.

2. Who said "I love you" first?

I don't think he's actually ever said it, so, me.

3. Who is the morning person?

He pretends not to be, but he got up at 8 this morning for no reason really. We've become morning people, mostly because we both just love to take naps.

4. Who sings better?

Heh, Z sings Monster Ballads like nobody's business, precisely the way they ought to be rendered-- high-pitched and wildly off-key. I actually sing competently but it's a lot less fun.

5. Who’s older?

I am 4 months older.

6. Who’s smarter?

Heh, that really depends on which of us you ask.

7. Whose temper is worse?

I flip out a lot more and go on tirades and things. But he has times when he's an irrational bitch too, so it's not all on me. He tends to be more levelheaded about stuff though.

8. Who does the laundry?

Me, because I am obsessive about doing it right.

9. Who does the dishes?

Heh. Long story. Mostly me. Not always.

10. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?

We both sleep on the correct side. I sleep on the right because Z likes to sleep facedown with his nose hanging off the left corner of the bed, and that doesn't work if I'm in the way.

11. Whose feet are bigger?

Z's feet are about 2 sizes bigger than mine. Which isn't that much, given how much taller he is. His hands are really long, though...

12. Whose hair is longer?

Z out of sheer laziness has grown his to the bottom of his shoulder blades, nearly. I tell myself mine is long deliberately-- mine is past my hipbones (if you can find them) now, and is I believe classifiable as "Iliac length".

13. Who’s better with the computer?

It's his job to be better.
Macs only, though.
Well, he fixed my parents' PC too, but he doesn't like to advertise that ability. He's also Not A Hardware Geek.

14. Do you have pets?

Chita Rivera and Pleco!

15. Who pays the bills?

When we switched banks, I put Z in charge of the bill payments. Now we both auto-deposit our paychecks into that account, and he's actually calculated via a spreadsheet what our living expenses are, and so on. Hopefully we'll get it all automated before he loses interest-- that right there is the key to getting anything done around here.
In the past we've alternated who paid more of the bills-- for a while, I was unemployed, for a while, he was, for a while I made more money than him. It's seesawed. Lately I've been using some of my savings to do things like buy $2000 worth of IKEA furniture, but I figured it was an overdue birthday present.

16. Who cooks dinner?

We switch off. Each of us goes through phases as a Super Cook. I came into the relationship with a lot better grounding in How To Get Something Nutritious Onto The Table Every Night, and he was still at the Cook A Fancy Dinner Once A Month And Get Every Dish Dirty stage of learning to cook. But lately (ie in the last two years) he's pulled ahead with the We're Hungry And There's Nothing In The Fridge miracle dinners, and is good at meal planning. It really goes by who is less uninspired, lately. He cares more about food than me; left to my own devices, I'd be making plain brown rice with butter for dinner like every day, but he's got a better head for Tastiness. He still leaves out the vegetables, though.

17. Who drives when you are together?

I often make him drive-- it's his car, and I really like to chatter and look out the window at shiny things instead of watching the road. But I have a slight tendency to backseat drive. Oops. But-- I scare him when I drive, despite having a better and longer track record of driving, so, whatever.
Eventually I'll teach him to drive stick...

18. Who pays when you go out to dinner?

Used to be always me; lately it doesn't matter as we have a joint account.

19. Who’s the most stubborn?

That also depends on who you ask.

20. Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?

Uh er neither...

21. Whose family do you see more?

His, given that they live within 5 miles and mine are 300 miles away-- but we don't see his as often as you'd think.

22. Who named your pet?

I think it was Z's idea, but it was definitely a joint decision.

23. Who kissed who first?

I don't recall-- I went into the first date figuring I was going to get laid, but I wasn't absolutely sure that was his goal, so I think I waited for him to make some kind of any kind of move first. But I was totally waiting for it. And in retrospect, I'm not really sure what he was going for. I kind of took over.

24. Who asked who out?

Uhh... Again, not so sure. I think he invited me to come visit him, and I think he invited me to go out, but it's hard to remember who suggested what. I'm not so much with the "going out" thing. Or, you know, reality.

26. Who’s more sensitive?

Depends on what. I'm generally more sensitive to a wider range of things, and more up on details of that kind. But he can get pretty easily offended by some stuff.

27. Who’s taller?

I think Z is seven inches taller than I am. I've 5'7" and he's 6'3". He can put his chin on my head, which annoys me no end (the fact that he can, not the actual action, which is usually quite sweet).

28. Who has more friends?

If you count roller derby, me. He talks to more people from high school than I do, though. And he's closer to his relatives.

29. Who has more siblings?

Me-- three sisters, vs. his only one sister.

30. Who wears the pants in the relationship?

Chita.

She totally does.

Though this morning she was zonked out in a total sound sleep on my feet and I woke her up just to be a bitch, since she woke me last night by peeing on me.

I am not a litterbox!!! Or a doormat!!

Unfortunately I don't think she really cared that I'd woken her. Cats aren't so offended by these things.
