dragonlady7: self-portrait but it's mostly the DSLR in my hands in the mirror (drachen)

Those of you who are local will understand what this cryptic sentence means:
OMGWTFBBQ THE LOONIE IS AT PAR.
The rest of you, just go invest overseas. It's sort of all you need to know.

Chita keeps shrinking away from my attempts to pet her because my dry, cracked hands are all covered in lotion and, as such, must smell funny. It makes me sad though.

(later added: Aw, she's sitting on my shoulders now. Cute. Heavy. She must be well over 5 pounds now.)

I feel I've been very incompletely blogging and later on will be totally confused as to what was going on-- the primary point of this journal, after all, is to keep track of what the hell is going on in my life. I don't really have time to catch up, but a few quick things I'll want to remember later--

  • Friday night a bunch of us from work went out for a quick drink and various of my coworkers (remember how I keep thinking I'll get fired any day now?) were all Man, you're so much better than our other employees have been in the past, I can't believe how good you are, etc etc. So I was rather disoriented by that.
  • After that, we came home and Z passed out and I primed and painted almost all the trim in the bedroom. I also dropped the can of red paint on myself, and then managed to use a rubber spatula to shovel almost all the paint back into the can. Go me!
  • Saturday I went to the funeral of a 99 1/2-year-old-man, whose daughter I used to work with and then rollerskated with for a while. I've written about her before but I don't really feel like going back to try to link to it now...
  • Saturday evening Z and I stripped all but the east wall of the bedroom, and I completely finished deglossing and primering the trim, and put a first coat of red on almost all of it. Then we went to Blogtoberfest, for sufficiently tiny values of "blog", and thence to Youngstown for drinking and bonfire-watching.
  • Sunday we slept in, then went to the bank to get a new bank account we can actually use to pay bills with. Then we went out for breakfast, to Kosta's, for a bacon-and-kaseri omelet for Z, and some House Special involving French Fries fried in scrambled egg, for me. It was amazingly good.
  • Then we stripped the last wall, scrubbed all the walls, primered everything left in the room, put a coat of red on every last piece of trim, and put a first coat of purple on every wall. So now the room is entirely purple, if a bit blotchy. I do have photos. It's dark in there. But cozy.

Now I'm going to shift Chita and go put another coat of lotion on my hands, and then get dressed. My hands are really in rough shape-- weather change, plus lots of pesky physical labor. Eugh.
Then off to work, where apparently they like me after all. Weird.

Glad they like you. Everyone should like you. I like you. And I can't wait to see you! Less than a week!

They take more American dollars for equiv canadian dollars if you spend them up there now, since they'll need to exchange.
