time slows down oddly at weird times
Jul. 31st, 2007 09:22 amTime has been passing slowly lately, hasn't it?
I'm waiting for Z to sign onto Gmail so I can bug him. I haven't seen him in twelve hours. That's not that long, but I'm not used to it.
Of course, when I was over at his mom's house with him, we didn't really have anything to say, and sat around reading stuff quietly. But still.
Chita was on a formidable crack high last night when I came back after dinner. Her pupils were dilated all the way, and no matter how hard I jingled the dingly mouse, she could not be kept entertained, but kept rocketing around and flinging herself up the window screens. After I finally got annoyed and slammed shut the one window (after peeling her off the screen five or six times, telling her "no" firmly each time, etc.), she ran into the glass several times, and then went up another window.
I hauled her off it, yelled "NO", chucked her through the porch door and shut the door so she couldn't come back out.
It's cute and all, for like, ten minutes, but I'm serious, three hours.
Ehhh. Having a kitten, you know. Not all sunshine and roses. She's huge now, by the way. I have a vet appointment in 10 days for a booster shot and I expect she'll weigh more than twice what she did last time, by then. (I should keep her a chart. A scrapbook. Baby's first fly! [She did catch and eat a fly on Sunday, I should mention.] But that might be humanizing her a bit too much.)
Oh and then this morning she decided that people-clawing is an acceptable sport, again. It was six o'clock on the dot! I should be awake! Why was I not awake?
I made myself a cocoon so she couldn't scratch my arms, and lo! she went after my face instead.
Not Cool.
But before I could wake up enough to be mad she decided to climb up on my butt and lie there, so I didn't have to kill her. She probably thought she was annoying me, but really I didn't mind.
Other than kitten... my life is empty, meaningless... OK, not really, but it's boring.
Oh, I did get yet more new bras. I don't know if it would be gross or TMI to post photos of myself in them, so I am squashing the urge for now, but I may not be able to forever.
Ehhhh. It is now just barely 9:30. Z is not online yet. time is not passing. I'd feel guilty for skiving work to type this except that time is passing so slowly I haven't really wasted any. I've typed all this in less than five minutes. Jesus.
I guess I'll go do work anyway. Although I must mention how friggin' amused I am by the Neil Gaiman snog. (Read the account of it in his journal entry of the previous day.)
