Sleepy. Time for sleep.
Derby was awesome. Blogged it on Myspace, briefly, along with confusion about my team's prospects in the next bout.
Spent today, after practice this a.m., puttering. Just couldn't get focused. Did a lot of little things, and halves of little things, but didn't finish anything, which is highly irritating. Oh well.
Start my new job tomorrow. Haven't found a car. Haven't really even called anyone about a car. Am so thoroughly undecided as to what I want-- It's hard to find a good, sturdy, used, no-nonsense, standard-transmission preferably station wagon-type car (though I'd take a hatchback or a four-door sedan) with decent gas mileage and not in need of any astonishing amount of maintenance, for between 4 and 8 thousand dollars. That's what I figure I need, and I just, eh, don't really know where to look. Am trying Artvoice, Craigslist, and random Internet searches in a desultory fashion, but it's just so damned time-consuming, and I don't have that kind of time.
I'm considering going down to the garage on my corner that sometimes sells used cars, and saying, if you get anything around that description, please let me know. It might work, who knows?
Anyway. Have to be there at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Have chosen an outfit for tomorrow, made a lunch (pasta salad, an apple, and a soda), packed my new nice shoulder bag with everything I need, and set my alarm. I haven't actually used an alarm in --God-- years now. We'll see if I need it.
I have press stuff to do for roller derby but I really just don't have time. I needed to get all this shit ready tonight, just to be sure, to know that I had everything. I get nervous, you know?
In related news, while trying on outfits, I realized that I really really need more blouses, light professional-looking jackets, and jewelry. I don't have enough of any of those things.
