I have only encountered Broken Xkit, which I haven’t fixed yet, so I’m actually always dealing with unfiltered tumblr.
Xkit just doesn’t load on Chrome on mobile, so– and I haven’t figured out how to update it anyway, and it would be super easy I know I just haven’t.
I don’t mind the ads! I just don’t want to see the one post over and over, because it’s not an ad and it’s a perfectly reasonable post that I don’t want to get mad at because it’s not the post’s fault!
Tumblr is such garbage. :(
I’ll look into Washboard, but since my ability to figure shit out is approximately negative two units of nonsensical measurement, I will probably just keep loading Tumblr on my phone browser (which I do by typing www.tumblr.com into the google chrome bar, I don’t even have a bookmark because That Is Hard To Figure Out).
Here’s the bonus entertainment: there’s no scroll-back-to-top button on mobile Tumblr, so I just hit the navigation button that takes me back to the browser’s home screen, and type the URL in (or click it if it’s in Recently Visited, which it hilariously often isn’t) and manually reload the page. That is how good I am at shortcuts.
One more bit of mobile Tumblr fuckery I just discovered: so your dashboard doesn’t show you messages or chats or notifications of any kind, but if you navigate to the Settings panel, it shows all the regular icons at the top, and you can see if you have messages or chats! And the chats load as if it were a non-mobile screen, so they’re about two pixels wide, and you can zoom in and it’s the most hilari-bad interface ever, but it works. So if my settings get wonky, it’ll be because I was using Tumblr from inside the settings navigation pane so I can interact with the majority of the site besides my dashboard.
NO I WILL NOT INSTALL THE APP I have it on good authority it is no less garbage than when I uninstalled it like a year ago.
