teaser preview image
Mar. 30th, 2007 08:35 amDo pardon the inexplicably mirror-imaged webcam image-- I'm kind of in a time squash so not going to fix it in Photoshop. You get the idea.
And do take into account, I'm wearing a molded-cup bra, not a sports bra. In my Enell sports bra, I have a more easily-legible uniboob. This is pretty legible, given the current topography of my chest in this support undergarment.
I'm not ready to model the whole uniform yet-- I'm trying to keep myself from putting it on and wearing it around *all* day, and since I have to go out and run errands and it's only 40 outside, I don't think a tiny shot miniskirt would be quite ideal anyhow-- but there's a preview of the chest. See? Doesn't fold under. Is legible.
I love our logo because it is so clean and simple and adaptible-- the designer can (and does) easily separate out the parts of it to make it fit onto a long narrow space, a tall wide space, just a square, a rectangle, a circle, a torso, a lower back, a side chest, a center box pleat, and every part of the logo used separately is striking, recognizable, beautiful, and different.
At least three of us already have tattoos designed. Sissy and Lizzie are getting theirs on Wednesday, brass knuckles-- Sissy on her thigh, between the upper part of her kneepad and the lower edge of her bike shorts, Lizzie on her forearm between the top of her wristguard and the bottom of her elbow pad. Mia is getting a tattoo all down one shoulder/deltoid/bicep of a rollergirl in uniform, gear, and skates, who in turn will have our logo tattooed on *her* shoulder/arm.
Z asked, "What if they get redrafted to another team? What if the team dissolves? What if the team changes its name or logo? What if they move away?"
None of that matters. Because no matter what happens in the future, there will always have been this time, this group of girls, this excitement of belonging, this wonder of growing competence, this joy in this sport.
It's almost enough to convince *me* to get a tattoo.
Pictures of the rest of the uniform will follow later, when I get all dressed up and dolled up to go out to see our designer's band play. (We're going in uniform as a thank-you.)
