You can’t speak to people that way! You just can’t.
You can get away with it if it’s someone in a position of no power, with whom you have only fleeting contact, *probably*.
You cannot speak that way to people with whom you have a long-term reciprocal professional relationship. You just can’t. You can’t be harsh and dismissive and constantly assume the worst and berate them without cause and just constantly imply they’re incompetent. (Bonus: when it was your mistake.)
You also can’t be so convinced that you’re the only competent person that you instantly assume any mistakes are other people’s faults, and simultaneously so bone-lazy you never do a damn thing when you can pass the buck to someone else.
But you absolutely, absolutely cannot speak to people this way.
When you tell stories of how cruelly you have been mistreated in the past, and how awfully your family treats you now, and how terribly the world in general abuses you– I mean, I generally don’t hold with blaming victims for their own mistreatment but has it occurred to you that if you are hideously rude to someone, they may return the favor over time?
No one deserves to be mistreated.
So*don’t speak to people like that*, you giant fucking jerk. Because words have meanings and actions have consequences and when we say you can’t speak to people like that, we don’t mean you physically can’t, we mean you can’t do it *without consequences*.
