I don’t use the Tumblr app because it’s
Mar. 2nd, 2016 04:08 pmvia http://ift.tt/1QTBv4S:
I don’t use the Tumblr app because it’s garbage. I just use Chrome on my phone and load the webpage.
Tumblr tries to get me to use the app at every possible turn. It pops up dialog boxes when I want to “like” something, where my options are “ok” to go download the app, or “waaah! I don’t want to!” if I want instead to complete the action I clicked to do.
This is fucking obnoxious, and unprofessional. And the app, as I said, is garbage; the only advantage using it would give me is that I wouldn’t deal with those popups. I mean, notifications I couldn’t opt out of would then take over my phone, and I’d never see an image again, and my data usage would skyrocket, but at least I wouldn’t be forced to click a button that says “wahhh!” quite so often.
Latest trick: I follow the “Fatshion February” tag. On my computer, this does nothing. On my mobile, this means I see posts tagged with that. Lovely, you’d think.
No, because every day it’s just one post. And it is presented to me, for 24 hours, as literally every third post I see. Whether I interact with the post or not, it is every third post I see.
Lemme tell you how annoying that is.
I’m not installing your fucking app, Tumblr.
