dragonlady7Not-Sick Sick Day Karma had better not afflict me. I have a sore throat, but I'm hoping it passes. I just finished planting the bulbs out front so in the spring I'll have the Nicest Yard Ever. It's a bit late for bulbs, at least in theory, but autumn is usually so late around here, I think I'll be okay. The ground's not remotely close to being frozen, and we've still only had the one actual frost, which consisted of 3 feet of snow and an ambient air temperature of 34. So it's not really a hard frost. Since then I think it's gotten down to 32 but no colder.
Buffalo really does have lovely autumns. It just doesn't have consistent ones. Which is too bad. But whatever.
I am planning on completely dismantling the compost heap, and spreading the contents of it that have been in there for almost a year now on the gardens as mulch. It seems that at least something should be ready. But I don't know. So we'll finally find out, once I get the heap dismantled, how well it worked. I'm going to move it for the winter, and put it in the garden where the giant mutant tomato plant was, where it'll get more sun and also not be in the way of putting the car in the garage should the fancy strike us. I'm reluctant to move it farther away from Crazy Old Bat, but it's not convenient to put it anywhere else at the moment.
I was going to get started on that but she was prowling around her yard, probably drawn by the scent of fresh blood, and I just didn't want to risk an encounter with the undead with me all vulnerable like this, being as I'm sick and all.
I do have a pinched nerve in my shoulder, although it's not horribly bad at the moment. I made it sound worse over the phone. I might put a heating pad on it in a bit, if I ever remember where I left the heating pad.
Has this been a banal entry or what? I'll leave it open in my browser window a while in the hopes that something more worth posting occurs to me so I can give this a punchline.
And then I just left that sitting in my browser window all night. Z and I went grocery shopping last night and wacky hijinx ensued. Well, not that wacky.
But I didn't post my composition or wordcount total last night either. My total as of last night just before bed was 36,039 words, so, good for me.
Heh, I just left this sitting in my browser window all day. I'm a genius.
