iTunes library transfer completed. Complete at 17.9 GB, which means I've cut about 10 GB from the total. I will probably notice many of them are missing, and add them in, but I am not too fussed. I am glad that I managed to be somewhat quick and yet do it by hand the way it needed to be-- there were entirely too many songs in my old library that I never listened to but was too dumb to delete. Maybe this way I'll actually have some control over my data, now that it's organized.
I need to do the same to my iPhoto library, but I figure I can just transfer all the files over wholesale and go through it on the bus or while sitting on the floor downstairs from work, one of these uninspired days. Probably next week. This week, I have to get back to the rest of my work/life.
I know this is boring to read and I'm spamming the f-list, but I'm too tired to be coherent about why it's important that I have my files in order. It probably doesn't make sense to anyone else because it doesn't even quite make sense to me. But once I've got all my files squared away, then I'm going to try to neaten up my actual physical life the same way, and maybe my mental life will follow suit.
