To Shakespeare in the Park the other night I wore my t-shirt that says "I'm blogging this." We were meeting a group of people from elmwoodstrip.com there, so they were all bloggers and found the shirt hysterical. But of course they wanted to know what, precisely, I was blogging.
And I had to answer, truthfully, that I don't actually blog much. Perhaps the shirt is a jinx. I'm just not blogging that often. Partly because I'm busy, partly because the part of my brain that puts things neatly into words is, at the moment, oddly tied up. I am working speedily towards the conclusion of Barbarians Novel, although not nearly so speedily as I had thought I would. I feel like I'm going fast, but the progress, it is not so much. This is very depressing, and makes me not feel like talking. What can I blog? "Still not done with novel. Have been working on it now well over two years, to the exclusion of many other things that most people would require in order to maintain a quality life. But I'm still not done. Isn't that wildly amusing?"
Gah.
I had a brief phase where I set my computer up in the attic, which worked fabulously for a day or so, but then it got hot. Fortunately now we are dog-sitting, and so we have to spend time over at Z's mom's house-- which is air-conditioned. So here's a new place to set up my computer--- but the wireless internet doesn't work for my computer in the living room, so I'll need a different place. Bah.
I managed yesterday to buy a pattern and fabric for my maiden attempt at sewing. We'll see how this goes. I don't think I really have time to work on it.
There is a green pepper on the sweet bell pepper plant nearest to the monster tomato plant. And I harvested two cucumbers last night. My life: It is the excitement.

Date: 2006-07-13 12:25 am (UTC)I haven't been blogging much myself. I did, however, eat a tomato off my own tomato plant on Monday.

Date: 2006-08-03 02:52 pm (UTC)I showed up nearly an hour late to the play so I had no idea what was going on. I asked the people we met there what they thought, and what it was even about, and they had no idea either-- and some of them had even been paying attention. So.
You beat me to tomatoes! I just got half a dozen last night. I'm going to make.... something.
