the king is dead
Jun. 16th, 2006 12:30 pmNugh! Is it never going to rain again?
Missed Z, who IMd me briefly this morning. I was not on the computer that is online, I was using his laptop, disconnected from the Internet, to sit on the couch in a frantic dive to finish this novel.
I have written three thousand words, and have killed them that needed to be killed, and have set up nearly the last of it. I just have to decide how many loose ends to wrap up before I can term the thing "done".
Of course, "Done" in this case is the same as "done" was to Vikings-Novel, by which I mean, I have written as much of the story as I can, and it is an entire novel that can be read front to back, but it is not in a publishable state because it needs a lot of polishing. But.
I am almost done with Barbarians-Novel, which I believe I shall re-dub either Bookzilla or Frankenbook, because it is a monster. 160,286, at the moment. It needs paring down, needs streamlining, and possibly needs reorganization.
But I have to leave for work in an hour, and I have probably two thousand more words to go, so...

Re: Bridget, Bridget, is it really, really, you
Date: 2006-06-17 12:15 am (UTC)In September of 2004, I don't recall how it happened, but I emailed you as I was just flush with completion of my own Bookzilla 165,000 w/c. So, proud I immediately sent it out to various agents and houses to see if it could fend for itself. Sadly, the big lizard kept coming home. Well, joined a writer's workshop and trimmed word count. Bookzilla is much more the geekco it should be. Still trying to farm it out, but that is another story.
So, good to finally read how you're doing. To much of a bore here to set something up like this for myself, snore, snore, snore.
Hey, dry, no rain, clay soil.....Hummmmm sounds familiar what area of the fifty states do you live within.

Date: 2006-06-20 03:10 pm (UTC)I don't recall emailing with you before, but I'm glad you're making progress. :) I set up a Livejournal years ago entirely to reply to someone else's entries, and it still astounds me that people care to read mine.
My BookZilla is getting better-organized, I just wish it wasn't taking me quite so long to get on top of. :)
I live in New York State. But it seems everyone's having either a terribly wet or terribly dry summer...
