Am feeling oddly taciturn. Don't really want to update.
Doesn't help that I seem to have done something ill-advised to one forearm, the sore finger-moving muscles of which are making typing difficult.

Called in sick today-- medicine-head pre-medicine grew much worse when I took one Sudafed, whereupon I became so fucking high. Decided, what the hell, I'm stoned out of my goddamned mind, so what better time to go to the Allentown Art Festival?
Did so, and was so fucking high all afternoon, and then the owner of Nietzche's did a shot with us, and I had a pleasant drug interaction and was bombed out of my tiny mind all evening.
It was, on the whole, a blissful day. I have photos, some quite charming ones actually.

Remind me later to update about the strip club last night. Gay wang! It was amusing. Also the customs agents at the border, with whom we were very frank and truthful about our mission.

But. Note to self: Sudafed gets you way higher than it ought to, even at a half dose, so in future, don't fight it. Just pretend you meant to get so fucking high and all will be well.

God damn.

My sinuses are still not behaving. I'm sobered up now to the point that I'm starting to care, which means that I believe it must be time to go to bed. Yes, that would be a good idea.

I dunno if it was the Sudafed that did it. It and other sinus medications have a history of making me light-headed, but data is inconclusive-- the last time I had a real dizzy spell after taking sinus medicine, I also had a sore throat that prevented me from eating adequately. (This is the last time I really lost a lot of weight-- my activity level went way up, at my job, simultaneously with my being sick and unable to eat well. So I guess that sort of counts as dieting...)

Anyhow, it was a pleasant high, but probably only because being too sick to work put me in a good mood and I was having a good time. I wasn't sleepy, though.

Pseudoephedrine, Sudafed's active ingredient, is a stimulant, banned by the International Olympic Commission and most major governing bodies of high-level sports. I know cuz one of the little girls I used to fence with was banned from competition for a year because her mom unthinkingly gave her Sudafed for her cold during a tournament. The incident got her more press in the local papers than she got for winning the Junior National Epee Championship, much to our disgust. I guess "Local Girl Wins Championship" sells fewer papers than "Local Girl Tests Positive For Over-The-Counter Boring Drug".

It was fun. Did you get out to any of the festivals or was it too much walking? It was awfully crowded down there.

No, I didn't go. Yes, a lot of walking, and it isn't what it used to be, when you could make a real find. Most of the artists are grandfathered, and you just get the same ones every year.

Still, if I should find myself able to walk some year when I didn't have too much work to do, I would go.

My sister used to take something when she worked at Wendy's. But I've forgotten what it was. It was one of those, not precisely illegal but makes me nervous, sorts of drugs.
