Yay!

This Friday is my last day off before my full-time bid schedule takes effect. I convinced z to take that day off. So we're going to go someplace Thurs. night, to have a little overnight getaway together.
Where should we go?

Cleveland?
Pittsburgh?
Toronto?
Southern Ontario?
The Stratford Festival?
St. Katherines?
Niagara Falls?
The Finger Lakes wine-making region?

All of these are sub-six-hour drives from here, which would make a quick overnight very doable.

If I ever own a resort I'm going to call it "somewhere" because that's pretty much the most attractive thing I can think of. Anywhere! Not here!


Although now that it's nice out my house is nice again.

Getting Away From All That ...

Personally I'd vote for Stratford - "the play's the thing",after all, and it looks like you have a choice between Dickens and Shakespeare. I've never been there, though, and can't speak from experience. But have a nice break, just going somewhere and doing something different can really set you up.

Stratford is lovely and quaint -- but small. There's a river with ducks and swans, some lovely grounds to walk through, a few restaurants and shops, and of course, the theatre. But it's a small town. (I quite like it.)

Of that entire list, it's the only one I've been to. I went several years ago in college and it was delightful and I had a blast.

It's also pretty much the only one Z hasn't been to, on the list.

The good stuff in the festival isn't starting until later in the season, though.

And Toronto-- we should go during the CNE, Z says. Which is also, later.

*grumble* I need to work a whole lot less.
