The fruit of lies:
Z finally gets his crack at Cuntbag Neighbor.

I am going to leave her a note to the effect that this is the bed she made and she can now lie in it. Had she said from the beginning, "You know, I don't think you realize, but your compost heap actually looks unpleasant from my yard. Would it be possible for you to come up with some less unsightly solution?" I would have done so. But when she decided to lie and say that there was a town ordinance against compost (something easily verified as utterly false; not only does Aunt Ruta keep one in this zip code, but also the town ordinances specifically exempt compost from their solid waste disposal directives), and then when I did not immediately comply come over and verbally abuse me? Well, she's earned the eyesore now. I was going to get one of those plastic thingies and maybe put it on the other side of the yard, but unless she apologizes for the way she spoke to me (and "look here, missy" is not an acceptable form of address to anyone above nine years old and not in your direct custodianship), I'm not speaking to her.
And she can call the Health Inspector all she likes: I'm not in violation of code. I'm also ...

Woop! Health Inspector just showed up.
"Got a complaint? Uh, she said there was debris all along the fence and in the driveway and a compost heap... I don't see any debris... Oh, the compost heap-- we have a new code now, for rodents-- you have to elevate it a few inches on some bricks."
"Ok."
"Can you do that by next week?"
"Sure."
"I'll come back then. If you can't get it done by next week, call me and I'll give you another week."
"OK."
"Your neighbor's a bat, huh?"
"Yep."

Naw, those are nice, colored patio pavers. I'll probably just run to the home improvement store and pick up some big ol' cinder blocks.

And then I will paint them metallic purple so that they glisten in the sun.

The bricks will make it EASIER for her to see it, because it will be HIGHER.

According to the citation, it will need to be at least twelve inches higher in order to avoid a fine.

It was going to be a small pile, really. Two people can only generate so much organic waste, and a yard of this size can only produce so much yard waste. But now that the County is involved, it's got to be up to code. The experts say it's got to be higher, so there's really no choice in the matter.
