irrelevant anecdote
Feb. 18th, 2006 09:34 amThis has nothing to do with anything, I just thought it was time for a funny story after the scary one this morning. This is a Z story.
I asked him how his day was, yesterday, and he said he'd gone to his boss's house to troubleshoot the wireless network there. (The following is paraphrased.)
"He's got the most arcane and bizarre wireless network I've ever seen. He's got like three base stations. And without wires it's not like you can figure out what's connected to what. So I'm in the middle of this mess, in his office in the back, and he sits down next to me at his keyboard and starts playing me songs. He's playing, and singing-- John Lennon songs, and what-have-you.
Then his mom came in. His mom was there. She starts doing duets with him.
And his three-year-old daughter was there. She joins in. She's hitting keys. She's trying to pull the keyboard over onto her head. And there I am, trying to troubleshoot this wireless network, getting a concert from three generations of [family name]s.
It was pretty surreal."
