sluggish but itemized
Jan. 30th, 2006 08:44 amItem: I am sluggish this morning and my ear hurts. I think my ear hurts because I was too aggressive with the Q-tip yesterday. Isn't that the most disturbingly pathetic thing you have heard in a while? It always takes 24 hours for the pain to show up. Woe. Woe!
Item: At this address, I receive a lot of mail for dead people. Dead people whose funerals I attended personally.
I think this is what comes of familial stability. You know, I have never lived in the house of a deceased relative before.
Item: Dreamed about work again. Is getting tedious.
Item: Seamus Heaney's Beowulf is hysterical read in a phony Chicago accent (a la the Saturday Night Live skit about Ditka). "That was one good king."
Item:
applegnat's Blogger secret identity's latest post's punchline about the Bitchmaker made me laugh so hard I frightened Z, who was in the shower at the time which is a testament to how loud I laughed. It is not so funny on my twelfth or thirteenth reading, but then, my state of mind is not as it was. At the time it was precisely the most astonishingly hysterical thing I could have encountered. As it is it's not bad rereading.
Item: I have begun to outgrow my hard drive again. This happens every couple of years. Somehow I end up with too much stuff. I have been deleting things I can bear to part with, but I cannot continue doing this indefinitely. It is tragic, as in all other ways I love my iMac. But this isn't the sort of computer you can just tack another hard drive onto, like my old PCenstein. Le siiiiigh. My CD/DVD Megadrive of Doom could burn it onto dual-layered dual-sided DVD-RWs for me, but really, I just don't know if I could organize it that much.

Date: 2006-02-01 03:10 pm (UTC)I have tried to have separate online identities but I just can't. Hats off to those who manage it: my personal dread of embarrassment is far outweighed by my inability to keep organized.
