i put together all those shelves– well, no. I put together part of one of those shelves. Whereupon I realized that I can’t count. And so my dude and my sister counted all the spaces and installed the brackets for the rest of the shelves, and I ran around putting the shelves onto the installed brackets, because that involved no counting. (My life is best when I have a considerable support staff, as I have a number of crucial gaps in my Ability To Can; to wit, anywhere numbers, counting, or measuring are involved, it’s best I involve someone else. My best cheat is that to find half of a number, I bend the measuring tape in half and look at what’s there. This works for doubling too, but don’t get confused, they’re not the same thing! [Spoiler alert: I frequently get confused in this manner.] So like, people are like “oh everyone’s bad at math” and I’m like yes, there’s that, and then there’s me, and I have my own category so stop acting like I’m making this up.)
I put things onto many of those shelves. It was nice. Meanwhile my sister threw away a lot of things that were in my house when i moved in a decade ago. It was also impressive.
I wrote a nice note to the Contact Us section of Target thanking their staff for being really helpful to me, and they wrote back, so ha.
