OK. Long day.
Got much, much Xmas shopping done. Did up a bunch of dishes preparatory to embarking upon The Christmas Cookie Event. (Will not rant about how I do dishes all day at work until my hands are destroyed and then I come home and do all the laundry and cleaning and Z can't even do the dishes at home. Nope, not ranting. At any rate, I only did about a week and a half's worth of the two weeks' accumulation, so I guess I can't complain. We'll see if the rest get done.) Started on cleaning the kitchen, got set up to continue working on the recipe book I'm writing.
Then Z's mom called. She was going shopping. Wanted Z to come along. Oh, I was home? I should come too.
So we went shopping.
Six hours later we're home. Z has a new winter coat. We had a very nice dinner out. And then we set up Z's mom's new wireless router so she has a network in her house. We also checked out the Internet! Wirelessly! From her kitchen table! Amazing! Very nice indeed. But I am so tired. And we have not made cookies. And I did not finish cleaning the kitchen. And I did not finish the recipe book. And I did not do the Christmas cards, not even one single lonesome one. Nor did I do so much as open the attic door to look for the Xmas decorations.
Ah well. Today was a borrowed day anyway. Tomorrow there's a 1:00 Bills game @ New England, and there are snow showers expected between 1 and 4 pm, so it may actually be busy enough that I don't die of boredom or brokeness.
But it was a nice borrowed day, actually spent out of the house, spending money in the local economy, and not being a waitress. Which was nice. I don't get much of that, you know. And I work tomorrow, but the day after and the day after that are both days off and I can actually maybe get something done. Er, no, wait-- I work tomorrow and the day after, and then it's the days after that I'm off. Eh well, whatever. At the moment, I am sleepy, and I am going to sleep now.

Date: 2005-12-11 01:49 pm (UTC)Well, I do have the issue that I have no idea what it's feasible to expect to get done in a single day, so... yes, i did get quite a bit done, that I would have done none of otherwise, and that I needed Z to be present to do, but I didn't get everything I needed him for done, and we won't actually have any more time off together in daylight until after Christmas, so that's sort of a pity. I really don't know when I'm going to get the Christmas cards done.
