This is the last day I have to work this week, until Thursday, at least. Yeah.
I think I say that every week.
I feel like I have not been updating much. Random snippets:

Snow has stuck here, so we're under about two inches and everything's vaguely whiteish, although it's not deep enough for snowdrifts yet-- thank heavens.
Z has been troubleshooting the inherited snowblower, which has a five-speed transmission and a four-stroke engine. Yes, it is a more complicated machine than his scooter. It also doesn't start. At this point he's gone through the whole checklist and determined that the problem is that the fuel is not reaching the spark plug. But how to solve that, he has no idea.

I have not done my Christmas cards yet.

Z's magazine is going to start running a few new things in the new year. One thing will be Z's regular short column, entitled Gewgaws and Gimcrackies-- ostensibly a gadget column, but instead of being yet more free marketing for iPods, it will be about gadgets he actually owns or has used, such as a straight razor and a fancy corkscrew. I have been helping him proofread the columns he's stockpiling, and I can safely assure you that they're hilarious. Another thing in the magazine will be a new comic, drawn by a local artist and plotted by the magazine's publisher, though I'm not sure who's doing the dialogue. So that'll be neat.

I am writing rather a lot, in the afterburn of NaNoWriMo, but am working on fanfiction, and no it's not hot gay Elves, it's angsty neurotic (Eomer/Lothiriel) het, so it's more diverting than "good", per se.

I still don't know what's up with the weird letter I got about my health insurance. Coworkers say it's some kind of screw-up, and isn't true. Paycheck says they're still withholding my contribution. Who freakin' knows. My hands are a lot better, due to being stuck exclusively in Torture Bar (which has working dishwasher) for last three or four shifts. I really ought to go to a doctor for a checkup, though.

I've done nothing else of note in the last two weeks, I don't think. I am going to go write some more.
