bah, thursday blues

dragonlady7I hate Thursdays because they equal Mondays in my schedule. i don't want to go to work today. I spent yesterday writing, exclusively, and it was awesome, and fun, but it didn't feel like a whole day. It was really weird, and I wasn't aware of where I was really for almost all of it.
Tuesday I actually did a lot of cleaning and rearranging of furniture-- I should post photos of the living room now that it's redone, because it's really nice and roomy looking, and comfortable to sit in.
I wanted to go on and rearrange my bedroom, which is a) a mess, and b) not effectively laid out. But I haven't had time, and have to go to work today.
Which, of course, I don't want to do. Go to work, that is.
As of yesterday I have worked as a bartender at the airport for a year now. In celebration, I got a comment spam at my airportbartender blog. Yays.
I should cash in all my "points" today. See, whenever a manager sees you doing something "good", they give you "points", which are these little colorful cards that say "points" on them. Really, pretty retarded. And, like, five of these will get you a car wash, and ten will get you a Wal-Mart gift card for like $5, etc. And so I've been accumulating these things since I started, and have never cashed them in, and now have over a hundred. So I could get... like, twenty car washes!

Yeah.
I wish we weren't short-staffed, so I could one of these weeks take a couple of days off. Maybe get my house in order, do some Christmas shopping, get my holiday cards written and sent out, finish writing the recipe books I'm working on for Christmas, you know? Stuff like that. And, you know, maybe keep writing some stuff. It'd be pretty sweet. ... But we're short-staffed and I don't think I could find anybody. I'll try, certainly... Sure... Bah.
I'm holding on for the theoretical vacation in February. Once I know the dates Mom and Dad will be in Georgia, and the dates Fiona was thinking of going, I'm definitely going to put in to get that week off. I just don't know if I can last that long. I just need some time to Not Be In Reality. Maybe I could claim I had the bird flu...
