I have been busy all day today, and I think I've invented a machine that travels forward in time. Hurrah. (It canNOT be nearly 2 pm. You're KIDDING me. ... Attack of the time machine again!)
Have been catching up on correspondence, which is very satisfying except that i am of a state of mind wherein I will put something down, walk away, come back, and be unable to locate it, which means a great deal of running in circles.
I am feeling smug because I have not cranked the thermostat above 55 in two days now, but I am also feeling thoroughly chilled.
I went outside and got the goddamn lilies in the ground-- I toyed with the idea of clearing out a bit of the pachysandra out front and putting the three lilies in there, but I decided instead to cram them into the bed with the other lilies instead-- less work, as the dirt there was already turned over, and less chance of Mrs. Bob interfering. She was backing out of her driveway in her Buick Rendezvous as I was scoping out the front (I put in a few last spare crocus bulbs there that I found hiding in the bottom of the bag), and she squeaked the brakes slooooooowly all the way down the driveway, and then sat there at the end of the driveway staring at me. There were no cars coming down the street in either direction, and I've no idea what she was waiting for, but I went on with my business and sort of regretting having hitched up my too-loose pants so my plumber's crack didn't show. But I wasn't about to moon her-- too cold. Eventually she pulled out into the street (having waited until a car *was* coming, although I doubt she ever saw it, and as it stopped and waited rather than honking, it didn't draw itself to her attention) and drove away. I really have no idea what on earth she spends her time doing nowadays. I hope she disapproves of muscari, because I planted a lot of them.

It's muddy out there, I might mention, and though sunny, it is still 45 degrees and sopping frigid. Eurgh. Cold mud, wet gloves, evil clay glop. Hope the lilies like it.

I have a link for y'all: if you go to Z's work webpage and scroll down, you can watch the trailer for a movie his video dep't made about the race for mayor that's going on in our city at the moment. (The top black box is a trailer for the mayoral debates happening tomorrow night; the second box is the one I'm talking about, down on the right.) It's vaguely Michael Moore-esque, in that it's politics and rock and roll and right before the election, but absolutely no commentary is offered: it's just the current mayor and the mayoral candidates saying things. Some of the things are absoultely asinine. It's kind of entertaining, and kind of horrible: One of these clowns is going to be our mayor. And that's pretty upsetting.

Did you ever decide if you were doing NaNo this year? I signed up to watch my friends, but I don't think I'll participate. Who knows? My username is the same there as it is here.

The link didn't work for me. It appeared to be loading, then said 'not found'. It could well be my computer, but I do have QuickTime loaded.

The whole page, or the video?

If it's the video, Z says unfortunately that's going to happen for a lot of people because of firewalls. There's a workaround but nothing he can implement in time for tomorrow. He does want to fix it, but he can't in time for the mayoral race.
Personal firewalls and corporate firewalls will both cause the page not to work.

(I didn't know that when I linked to it, but now I do.)
