dragonlady7: self-portrait but it's mostly the DSLR in my hands in the mirror (moomin and the snork! by fileg)

i did succeed in getting a bit of housework done yesterday. I removed most of our debris from the back porch and relocated it to the basement. So, at the moment I am lying in the hammock, quilt-draped (it is as important to have a blanket under you as over you in the hammock, we've discovered), bathed gently in indirect artificial sunlight. The beans are four feet tall now, by the way, and there are morning glories beginning to twine around the supports of their basket. (I don't know what I'll do with them when they start to really climb. I haven't planned that far. It's sort of the fun part.) The basement is definitely the Seekrit Lair now. There's even a paper lamp shaped like a monkey by my bedside hammock.
Really this Lair now only needs two things: 1 a teakettle (there is a gas stove already), and 2 a bathroom. There's a sink (and washing machine) but there really ought to be a toilet.

My excuse for lounging around right now is that, well, I'm doing a load of wash and I have to wait here until it finishes. Except of course I don't.
It's not cold out, so I'm planning on getting to the gardening, but I'm just so sleepy...
I have got packages ready to go out, so all y'all who I promised postcards to three months ago, well, I won't spoil the surprise, but let's just say I'm remembering how to apply a stamp. I did make some cool discoveries in the postcard realm, though. Anyone else? Email me your address. I have nifty postcards. And I promise to send them so far in the future you'll totally not be expecting them.
[livejournal.com profile] eggplantia5, if I had your address I have lost it. :(

Z got in on the mix-CD action a bit, and at one point I was in the shower, and came out of the bathroom into his bedroom to find him sprawled across the bed writing out liner notes, with his hair down and the way his posture was, among the stuffed animals strewn on the bed (I removed the monkey collection from the back porch and had just sort of dumped them there), he looked for all the world like a teenage girl in the midst of angsting over her from-the-radio mix tape to her crush or whatever. It was funny, and very early-90s, and I took a picture but I don't know that it conveyed it.
