Right. So.
Sep. 22nd, 2005 08:12 pmIt is Thursday night.
I still do not have a scooter.
However, I have now actually sat on said scooter. And that's something. I guess.
The work on it is done, it just needs a coat of primer and to have the fender and front thingy put back on.
Which means tomorrow, as it was raining today anyway.
The seller is going to actually come and pick Z up from work, so he can come get the scooter.
Can I come too?
No. I am working until 7:30 tomorrow night. I will not be involved in the pickup of the scooter, due to being at work.
In other news, Z's bank crapped out on him yet once more. They've been shit in periodic increments ever since he signed up with them three years ago, so I suppose expecting anything else out of them (such as them giving Z access to his money when they said they would) is rather on the unreasonable side. Everbank are complete and total fucks, and the worst part is that today they told him he could use his defunct ATM card and they'd reactivate it for him. This was a complete and total pack of lies, which they utterly disavowed any knowledge of when he tried to use said ATM card and called them back asking what the fuck they were smoking. I'd never actually heard Z call someone a piece of shit over the phone before, but he did. I was mightily impressed.
So I had to get money out using my card instead. Z will be changing banks after this, unless he gets lazy again like he did after the last time they screwed him.
So: I have now paid for the entire scooter, all in cash. The scooter Z was buying because he had all this money coming to him from the government. Yes. I bought it.
He'll pay me back. As soon as his bank lets him have his money. Which, given that they're a pack of lying fucks, may be a while.
(I exaggerate slightly. Z had put some money into that joint account. It's mostly the cash from my tips that I've been depositing in there ever since I started working, but some of it was Z's. It's just that that account has been entirely my responsibility and 90% of the money that's moved through there has been mine. And so all the cash that came out of it was my responsibility to get, including when, at 2 pm today, he sprang on me that we needed $1100 in cash by 6pm tonight because his fucking Everbank check wasn't going to clear for at least a month and the seller needed the money before that. And I wasn't getting out of work until after the bank closed. Yeah. That fucking ruled. I took out the maximum daily ATM withdrawal allowance from both my accounts and scraped together all my tips from the last two days and we just barely had enough. I think I'm justified in feeling like I paid for the damn thing. Hence my annoyance that I'm not actually going to get to pick it up.)
