OW what the hell. Argh.
Got my ass kicked at work. Hurt multiple bits of me. Foot hurt, leg cramp, hip cramp, toe injury, the works.
Am home. Sat down to surf the Web.
The J key just fell off my keyboard. Of the laptop I've owned for less than 24 hours now.

Dude.


edit Bless Z and his mechanical aptitude. I handed the computer and the missing key to him, and he pondered it a moment, and with his long skinny fingers did some deft manoevering, and then there was a little snapping noise and he handed me the computer back and said, "There."
The key's back on. No idea how it fell off. But there you have it: boy's good for something. :D

Hmph. I asked Mr. L to get me a new battery for my laptop, since mine won't hold a charge for more than 10 minutes anymore. (It's 3 years old, poor geezer.) So he did, and tonight handed me the battery and a CD with a read me file on it and said "Let me know if it works or not."

I'll let it sit there for about two days and then ask him to install it for me. I do software, not hardware, dammit!
