Aug. 17th, 2005 09:19 amWent to bed at 9:30. Woke at 8:30. Feel like i slept only about 6 hours-- am not terribly tired, but not really refreshed either. So that was a waste of time.
I'm in a very contemplative mood today, and my brain is of its own accord going over the various WIPs I am wanting to work on, filling in little details, coming up with little ideas, and entirely independent of any guidance from me it's playing out various scenes I haven't written.
Which is frustrating, as I don't have the time to work on any of them.
More distressingly, while out doing a little garden tour upon waking, I noticed that not only are my feet sore, but my knees are terribly creaky. They seem quite displeased with me. This is painful and also upsetting, as I've never had knee issues and really can't afford to. Bastages!
The other day Z went downtown with his boss, to see the new location where the paper is going to move its headquarters. It's a lovely space, though sorely in need of lots of work. While they were down there they stopped by a new entertainment space / nightclub that's under renovation as well, owned by a friend of the boss. Z described it as being very cool. I asked if he could get me a job there, as it had like nine bars in it and would likely be very busy. He shrugged.
I don't know if I would. It'd be neat to work in an actual cool downtown bar, as opposed to the boring airport bar, but I'd have to either stay 4 days a week at the airport bar to keep my health insurance, or count on earning enough at the other place to get me through any medical crises. I recommended to Z that he use this extra tax money to buy an insurance plan, but he agreed and then entirely forgot about it, so no dice so far.
Sigh. Guess it's time to roll out of bed and get the laundry in so I'll have clean clothes for work. Cutting it a bit short even for that, but I just don't want to move. My knees don't hurt if I don't move them...
