Oop, meant to post that this morning.
In other news... An image of house/dog/cat-sitting at Dave's mom's house.
Arrived there from work. Z standing in the kitchen. At the back door, the cat's ears and tail are visible above the step upon which she is lying. Beyond her the garden rises. In it stands an oranamental pole, from which hangs a crossbar and two hanging candle light fixtures. Upon the crossbar in perfect symmetry are perched five house finches and a purple finch. All of whom are yelling at the cat. Who is basking in the sunlight and the amusing ire of the small birds, with an occasional ear flicker to ascertain that yes, Z and I had noticed how so very cool she is.
Other news:
One tomato is maybe ripe. Will pick tomorrow.
An eight-inch cucumber, a bit lumpy but not seedy.
Also, more than a dozen beans-- over six inches each, huge long skinny pole beans. The vines are terrifyingly 'robust' by now, some over fifteen feet and grasping madly at the empty air beyond the trellis.
And one of the pea vines, perhaps jealous of the beans, had a vigorous last hoorah and produced a dozen perfect pods.
