"frisible" is SO TOTALLY a real word!!
Jul. 25th, 2005 11:31 pmWell, shit. Google says no, although it does turn up as a name.
I was probably thinking of "fusible".
(But the American Heritage Dictionary, version from 1987, did list friser as a French root word meaning curly, and thus frisible, a perfectly possible French-derived English word, would mean "curlable".)
Notwithstanding, Z accepted it as a word in our House Rules game of Scrabble (which also featured such gems as "dang", "Eliza", "shiv" (which is in the dictionary), and "linux"), and as such, I got 50 bonus points for using up all my letters, and eventually was able to win the game.
Man, do I know how to party or what?
I am also nearly invincible at Pictionary, and am awful good at Trivial Pursuit despite knowing nothing about trivia or, in fact, pursuit. How can you all live without me in your social calendars???!!!
And check this out: I bet rocks from space void warranties .

But yes, risible is indeed a word.
As is shiv-- it is in the dictionary.
