dragonlady7Last night I was simply going to write There is a special circle of hell for those who abuse petty power and be done with it, but instead of sitting at my computer I sat in a lawn chair outside and watched the nightbloomers open. They're flourishing this year: I suspect they like the heat. I must send some to Katy. I would love to find out what kind of plant they really are--- not even the gardening experts here know what they're actually called, or anything scientific about the plant.
We'd been considering going to the movies or something but I was tired. So I lay on the couch rereading Goblet of Fire or whatever the previous HP book was called instead. It does have quite an affecting ending; I was tired and indignant and thoroughly moved by the whole thing, so good for it.
I have to go to work today and am thoroughly wearied at the very thought. Having tomorrow off is probably the only reason I am still here now. Although, whilst collecting my paycheck last night, I noticed a letter taped to the wall by the HR lady's desk, from one of my slightly-senior-to-me comrades, giving two weeks' notice; mostly the departing one is working closing shifts and the like, which I don't prefer, but he's senior to me and has better hours so if he's gone, we slide on up the list. So perhaps, with all the hour shuffling going on, something decent will come of it. I live in hope.
