house sitting
Jul. 20th, 2005 09:58 amMust leave soon for work, but must recount this first.
Am at Z's mom's house, house (and dog)- sitting while she is in California for two weeks.
We came over and slept here last night because she has a/c and because Bert the dog was having gastrointestinal difficulties and also panting a lot, and we decided the a/c would be better for poor Bert than keeping her in our stuffy house.
Arrived, went into the living room, only to see a copy of Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince sitting on the coffee table.
Nearly fell over. (Am not a huge HP fan but have enjoyed the books since they came out, and also am feeling very left out of all the spoilers lj-cuts etc.. My mom has been buying all the books as they came out, and so it seemed retarded for me to buy a copy as well, when she's got the set. So I'd resigned myself to waiting until at least mid-August before getting a peek at it.)
Have finished it, of course. Am quite pleased.
However, due to Adelphia's retarded policies, I cannot get my computer online here without calling them up. It's really quite shockingly stupid, the whole affair. But whatever. I'm using Z's mom's antique laptop, whose version of Safari doesn't even support tabbed browsing. The horror!

The first way is that he's as evil as Harry thinks, and as JKR obviously wants us to think what with the weird random non-Harry-POV scene with leStrange and Malfoy & the Oath. Which would be, really, pretty boring. The second way is that he's secretly the most rabid anti-Voldemort person in existence and will do anything to kill him, including lying, cheating, poisoning, cooperating with people he hates, and blasting his only real supporter off a rooftop. I really sort of hope that the latter is what JKR goes with, as it'd be much more interesting.
