am in the lair for a moment before i go out to sleep on the porch. whee! fiona said she'd share the bed, but i figure the couch'll be just as comfy, and then i won't mistake her for dave in the middle of the night. Her hair's the same length.
folks are here, scout is here, scout is hyper, scout is short-haired for summer (poor haircut monster). Mom has decided her Old Wives group needs to drink Singapore Slings instead of Cosmos for a change. (I cheer the retro chic of it all.) Scout has decided that a walk at a walking pace is far too dull, so I had to take a jog around the block with her. Sans sports bra, in cute white lacy bra with cute silk top slipping off the shoulders: a man in his yard said "Nice... Dog" and i just said "thanks" and ran on by, for two miles in all which was ok except I was wearing Tevas and at a full out running pace they make a loud slapping noise on the sidewalk, and I can't run as fast as the dog can.
Mom said I was "svelte" and we wear the same size jeans. She also praised my little garden to the skies and said next year I should just do the whole backyard. She also gave me a beautiful ceramic bowl into which I promptly dumped the fatoush salad I'd made for dinner to serve it. It's lovely. Dinner was a hit.
Scout loves the way Buffalo smells.
I wish Katy was here. I'm glad Fiona's here. And I'm glad Mom and Dad are here. I found out Ann's in Montana with Suzie Gifford enroute to camp in Glacier National Park, so I do feel a bit better, as Suzie never goes very far wrong.
But it's lovely to have a fuzzy pet around to slobber on you. I have missed the dog.
