OK. back from walk.
Jun. 14th, 2005 12:15 amAnd a little calmed down. Whoo. I don't get much caffeine.
So. Dave got an email from one of the places he applied last week. They sell Voice-Over IP telephony equipment. Dave's worked with this sort of stuff before, and is thoroughly experienced.
The email they sent was a mass mail to 15 of the applicants, inviting them to a group interview.
They didn't use a BCC. So the addresses of the other applicants were all plainly there to see. Dave immediately picked out the single RIT address (his university) and stalked the dude. Discovered his website, upon which he misspells the word "Internet".
Yeah.
So Dave spent the whole walk talking about getting his game face on. Which was cute. And virile. I'm thoroughly aroused by how utterly competent and virile Dave is.
(er, actually, I'm a bit too full and kind of loopy. But. Let me pretend.)
In other news:
Never one to let an inside joke die a graceful death, I have claimed the miraculously-hitherto-unclaimed handle of
elfpansies to make a community. Now, i haven't really thought things through, thoroughly, but the general idea is that the community will be a (somewhat lighthearted) romp through the world of Elf slash (the reading and writing thereof), related interests, and probably also gardening, as we have to fit the pansies in somewhere. I kind of started it on impulse, though, so the guidelines are definitely in the works.
But. One thing's for sure: No sporking. As tremendously entertaining as it would be to lampoon the piles upon piles of badslash out there (which is always so much the more painful when it deals with certain cherished characters in agonizingly OOC fashions), I do not actually think that would be a very good idea. Because sporking leads to wank; wank leads to despair; despair leads to me becoming a hermit and eschewing the Internet evermore. And I don't want that.
Am still figuring out how to moderate a community on LJ. Tried to send invitations, but it didn't actually... work. The only way I can get people joined up is, apparently, by typing their names into the list.
So, anyone interested, please do drop me a line in some fashion. Tomorrow, once I am no longer in any sort of altered state (we hope), I will begin doing hopefully interesting things over there.
