Growl. Just downloaded the documents I worked on on the Newton to my desktop, and am looking at them, and I got almost nothing done on Friday. BAH. In my head I've written the conversations like four times, but I go and look and they're not there. Maddening.
I have much to do. Have just wasted over an hour reading LJ and email and then clicking to see if they've been refreshed, as I sometimes do-- I get sort of stuck in a loop going between the two pages and then going through all the comments I've been meaning to answer, like I'm waiting for some definitive event or the Comment to End All Comments before I move on to my next task for the day. It's a kind of paralyzing trap when I first wake up if i don't have anything else I have to do.
Eh well. Nine o'clock. Maybe I'll go weed the garden. Gosh, you can spend a lot of time in gardens. Having one was a good idea. I've decided that henceforth, anywhere I live must have an herb garden.
(This is added to my list of essentials, which includes also a washer and dryer, high speed Internet, and parking. I may well never get around to running away to Europe after all, as I am a slave to creature comforts in my domicile.)
jennnlee's Novel, by the way, is nearing its conclusion and climax simultaneously and has me quite riveted. She's posting it on
nibscratching as she goes and there are ghosts and flavored coffees and genealogical research. But, alas, she has to work this morning and so can't do the end of it until tonight. Bah!
