It rained, and I was glad, because we need the water. However. Now it is not raining. It needs to rain more. I am annoyed.
I have deleted over forty songs from my iTunes library, all of it utter shite that I never listen to. I've pared it down under 7300 songs. Now I just need to grow a pair and ruthlessly wade through the mislabeled Steve Earle (nobody needs more than a dozen of his songs, seriously) and Moby and Orbital and god knows what else lurks in my 0 playlist. (I have twenty dynamic playlists, sorted by the play count of the songs.) There are over 800 songs I have never listened to. Some are simply albums one seldom needs to listen to, whose occasion hasn't come up. But many are just tripe, and I have to get rid of them. I am by nature a packrat, so this is difficult: but my hard drive is an 80-GB one and I have less than 5 GB free. I just freed up several hundred MB, but still. Do I need all this? Probably not.
I love the song I'm listening to at the moment, by the way-- it's one of those dark fairytale songs and is beautifully performed. I have it up on my server and encourage everyone to download it and listen to it and then go and give tons of money to Danú, because they are awesome. The Outlandish Knight, by Danú, from the album Think Before You Think. All their albums are bloody fantastic. I don't even have the latest one.
I am, for some reason, deeply embroiled now in writing a Nirnaeth Arnoediad angstfic. If you think Ecthelion needs to be more angsty than he already is, and Glorfindel needs to spend more time bleeding, then have I ever got the story for you. However, it rather lacks any other redeeming merit, so I'll be taking a lunch break now.
I have to work this afternoon, so beforehand Dave and I are going to the mall. I need underpants (You all should be proud that I have nobly refrained from cataloguing the fact that i have been wearing men's underwear that someone bought in the wrong size for Dave), a brassiere that really fits me, and we need a new operating system. (If Dave's still plausibly a student, it's only $70. W00t!)
So, panties and Tiger. Sounds like a good trip, eh?
whoa, that was just a panicky moment. Consulted today's schedule for something else and somehow, iCal had reset today's "work" event to say I was supposed to come in at 9:30. Panic. I am positive it said 4:00. I am sure it was 4:00. But there's iCal, there's today, there's 9:30. Freak out. I just called work. Confusion. Finally they confirmed: I'm supposed to come in at 4:00.
So what's your deal, iCal? How did you say 4:00 yesterday and yet just now when I looked, 9:30?
The last thing I need are gnomes fucking with my calendar program.

Re: Nonsense
Date: 2005-05-25 03:08 am (UTC)I figured I'd provoke somebody into a response with that comment, but I didn't think it'd be you. :)
I'm saving your e-mail to respond to. :) Congrats on sort of aunt-hood, however, in the meantime. :)
E-mail me your address and I'll freaking burn every Steve Earle or possibly mislabeled perhaps-Steve-Earle song I have. I have like two freaking hundred of them. And I'll mail it to you, and then you can tell me whether you think it's too many or not.
