May. 13th, 2005 08:10 amTwo years ago today this happened.
Two years.
Can't believe it's been two years.
...
Was awakened by the 7 am mail slot again-- which means it's not the mailman, but dave's mom. This time she stuck through a bunch of notices from his bank (he hasn't updated his address with them), and i recognize a couple of them as being the little notices telling him he's below his minimum balance. I think I can safely surmise that he did not, in fact, switch the billing for the Internet over to our shared account, and so now he is overdrawn. I told him to do it and he responded by telling me to do it. Hon, you are the one who signed up for it in the first place and you know who the contact is. It's not that hard, just fucking do it. I handle everything else.
But no. So he's overdrawn. Good. Great. Fabulous. I'm going to have to write him a check to cover the amount so his bank stops charging him fees. *makes rude noise of exasperation with mouth*
There was supposed to be a frost last night, which pissed me off plenty, as I'd gleefully assumed there wouldn't be. So we put blankets over the herb garden and the tomato plants. I just checked the thermometer, which has hi/lo memory daily, and it assures me it didn't get below 33.9 degrees. The grass isn't white, so I'm hopeful. Just to be safe I brought all my potted plants inside, so at least some pansies should be all right. I think an almost-frost isn't so bad, though.
Stupid St. Pancras' day. (The Farmers Almanack informs me that the three chilly saints never pass without a frost. Go figure. I've no idea who the other saints were.)
... Just spent 45 minutes reading my lj entries of two years ago. I was an odd little bunny. Reminds me that I really didn't used to do very much fic writing for long periods of time. And God, that was an awful job, that I had.
