May. 8th, 2005 10:29 pmI think the mistake I make is in coming up with the subject before I've composed the post. First, I have to compose the post.
Gawsh-uh! (meant to be an exasperated expletive a la that kid in that movie) Today was pretty boring. I wrote an epic letter to Katy, about all kinds of things, including gardening, house issues, Dave's increasing dorkiness (it's about to become official!) and the advent of
ganga_. I also got pen all over the side of my hand, in a typical left-handed fashion that I haven't encountered in probably years because I write with pen so seldom now. (and when I do it's seldom cheap ballpoint, more to the point. cheap ballpoint should be illegal for lefties.)
I also scrubbed every coffee cup and every spoon and every fork. Then, lest my karma be overbalanced by overzealous work, I proceeded to steal a set of silverware. So now I have a set of forks and spoons with the US Airways logo on it. Don't tell anyone. But the only reason I did it is that I found a baggie of dirtyish silverware stuffed in the back of the drawer, and once I'd cleaned it, I couldn't bear to throw it back in the back of the drawer to be forgotten. So I brought it home, to love it. Sure.
Anyhow. Made $4. Was so bored. So very bored. Bleah. Tried to do some writing, couldn't summon much interest. Same holds true tonight.
So why am I posting? Gosh, I'm really not sure. *thinks* I had something witty to say, I'm sure. Didn't I?
Good heavens, I've got nothing to say, and have nothing in my imagination either. It's a curiously empty feeling. I'm never this empty. But I don't have anything at all that's interesting to me right now. Hm. Not sleepy either. I don't know if I could sleep-- I can never fall asleep unless I have some bit of story to work on in my head. Perhaps that's a little-known fact, that I compose most of my stories while falling asleep. Does that make up for there being nothing else interesting in this post, and yet it being long?
...
Dave had dinner for mother's day with his mom. i called my mom from dave's cellphone in his car. it was weird. good to talk to her. not much to say. I'm tired of humans. I'm glad I have tomorrow off. That's all.

Date: 2005-05-09 02:59 am (UTC)I do the same thing. I even have special bedtime stories, that will never see the light of day, so to speak, like fantasy-genre stuff I won't write because I'm too lazy to do all the world-building involved. And I pull those out to mull over when I lay my head down. I also work on scenes in The Book when I'm falling asleep: just let the characters talk and see what they come up with. Then I repeat it over and over if it's a keeper, and in the morning it's there so I can write it down.
So no, you're not alone in that. :-)
