... Er, it's actually not all that big a deal to be up just before sunrise, although I suppose what with the time change and all it's more of a deal than it used to be.
Dave's gone for the day to his Mega Chem Lab. This is how he got away with only commuting back and forth to Rochester.... er, four days a week. OK, so it didn't really cut down the driving. But. He's taking chemistry as a distance-learning class, and rather than an hour of lab a week, they just lump it all in and give you ten hours of lab one week. Er, great.
So I heard his alarm and rolled up and out of bed (I really do like being a light sleeper. It doesn't mean I never sleep through an alarm, but it does mean I can usually be relied on to get up) and went and made him lunch. Which was a challenge, in this house.

Our refrigerator was recently re-stocked: Dave did go shopping yesterday. But Dave shops for different things than I do. I had begun a grocery list yesterday morning, sitting at the table and doodling while I ate my lunch, and he got all the things on it, and then some. But none of them were really... lunchables.

So. His lunch wound up being:
Several slices of baguette with tzatziki on them
Leftover beans-n-rice
Dill pickle potato chips (we were worried Wegman's would stop carrying them so we always made a point of buying them, and then Weggie's went and introduced their own generic version! How about that? Guess they're not getting rid of them)
Chocolate easter eggs and a few black jellybeans
Yogurt

Yeah, I don't think it's particularly nutritionally balanced. Hm.

For dinner tonight I'm going to strip the chicken rack, use most of the shredded meat to make fajitas (accompanied by yet more rice, and some refried beans from my mom's recipe which are exceedingly tasty), and then dump the rack in a stock pot and boil it until it's sorry. Then I'll strain it and throw in the rest of the meat and make chicken noodle soup, because you can never have too much chicken noodle soup, especially given that it's like 33 degrees outside. (See? Aren't you glad I didn't take the storm windows down yet? And you thought I was daft, just propping open the doors on such gorgeous days as we had last week. "But it won't last," I said, and I was right; spring never comes this early to lake-effected Buffalo. It was just a freaky weather pattern that got everybody's daffodils blooming in unison. And forsythias, apparently. Tulips will be soon!! And perhaps if it keeps raining my peas will sprout. I'm getting impatient.)

Somehow while trying to talk about food I wound up talking about gardening. Why not?

While attempting to fall asleep last night, which is when I have most of my best story ideas, I did manage a good (I think) G/E one, so there may be smut today. The half-finished scene doesn't want to finish, but later stuff wants to fall into place. Unfortunately G is super-mega-angsty all the time. So that's got to get some work done on it. I also have some cleaning to do. If it weren't for the fact that it's eversoslightly more embarrassing than funny (but not much) I'd post before-after pics, especially of the way I "cleaned my room" on Tuesday (I shoveled all the junk out of the corner I use more, into the corner I don't. So it's a wreck, but only from certain angles).

I may also have some napping to do. Hellsbells boss, it's early.

Hey, whoa, why does my comment have a timestap of 9:35 PM?

That's an excellent question. I've no idea what my livejournal's time settings are. The times I post seem to be roughly correct, but other than that I've no clear idea what on earth the thing's doing.
