dragonlady7So the news informs me that Monday and Tuesday are going to be absolutely gorgeous days with weather in the seventies and partial sun.
I will be in Torture Bar, which has no windows, from 11 until 7.
Monday I will probably make money. Ok. Not much, but some. I could get some cleaning done, not like i haven't cleaned fucking Torture Bar eighty times. (I'll have to; the Wonder Twins were working tonight, which means two bits of dead weight, so nothing will be cleaned or stocked and I bet they won't even have ordered beer or, say, wiped down the bar.)
Tuesday I will be lucky to make any money. Last Tuesday in eight and a half hours I made like $20. I was bored, the bartender was bored. I didn't need to be there, but the rigors of scheduling require it.
So me, I'm thinking of calling in sick on Tuesday. I haven't had a day off in seven days (and won't have one until Friday: yes, after last week's 10-consecutive-day jaunt, they've produced this week's 11-consecutive-day farce, and yet, in four weeks when the universities let out, I guarantee you my hours will be slashed and I'll have to go out and find a second job), and I'm tired, and I want to clean my goddamn house. The place is a disaster. It's ridiculous. It's not even like humans live here. And I want to spring clean, and I want to take a goddamn nap. I've never called in sick; I've only called in once to ask if I could be late, and nobody even noticed. I am becoming surly and resentful because I have been working my goddamn tail off and nobody's noticed. So. Should I take a break, or preserve the perfect attendance record that none but the cash-office girl seem to have noticed?
