and... a photo from Baghdad
Apr. 17th, 2005 09:05 pmKaty e-mailed Mom a picture of her and her husband near the fish pond. Yes, apparently there's a fish pond where they live and work. It had some problems with the water quality, and they tried to fix it but it, well, kinda killed the fish. But here it is, and they're restocking it. Why not! Fish ponds in deserts are fabulous ideas.
Katy did say it's nicer and less dusty here. There's still a lot of dust from the roads, and she's terribly allergic to it and sneezes all the time (like our dad), but at least there's greenery around, and it's better than 2003.
Don't they look cute in their matching outfits!

Date: 2005-04-24 03:02 pm (UTC)Actually they've just moved Adam to another location and they only get to see one another once a week now, so that's a big old bummer.
Yeah, Katy's patches are because she's in Ordnance (see the little bomb on fire on her collar?) and Adam's an MP. I think they're also in different units (he has an Old Ironsides patch and she doesn't.)
But they're awful cute in their matching outfits.
Not long ago Dad came home from National Guard in his camoflage fatigues and Scout freaked out and got excited, because she recognized the uniform and thought she was going to see her parents. So sad. (Dad and Katy, incidentally, wear exactly the same size uniform. She gave him all her Kelly patches when she got married.)
