dragonlady7Made it home before dark! Did some gardening. Am so effective, clever, and spiffy. I made it onto the 7:06 bus! Ha ha ha.
Apparently poor Gerri's out for the next five weeks. I still don't know what happened: I assume it's her back acting up again. Poor woman's been out sick a lot this year.
Had a little shock this morning: looked up at the TV and it was a newsish kinda talk show with a live audience, and there was one of my co-workers sitting in the audience. Astonished, i watched as the camera panned to show several other co-workers. I exclaimed, and Judy turned around and laughed. "Oh yeah," she said, "they're over there on vacation." I never figured out quite why, but there they were on TV. Shrug.
Man, some of my co-workers take vacations like every month. Bastards. I wonder if I could get some time off. Maybe for Dave's graduation. Oh! I should request that very soon. I need to be reminded of the date. It would suck donkey balls to miss Dave's graduation and/or grad party. We were going to throw one... I'd need to have a day off that other people have off... Like a Saturday or a Sunday... and God knows it would kill them to give me one of those off.
Oh, I asked the union rep, "So how long do I have to work here before I can join the union?"
"Sixty shifts," she answered.
"I passed sixty in February," I answered.
She blinked. "Oh," she said. "Oh, well, Linda's the one that tracks that stuff." Linda's been out sick for two months now and won't be coming back for some time; she had some terrible nerve thing and a bunch of surgery shortly after they hired me.
"Great," I said.
The union rep said I should talk to a particular one of the cash office staff, who used to handle that sort of thing and probably is supposed to have picked up Linda's slack but things have been disorganized.
Sigh.
So I suppose the good news is that I'm eligible for health insurance by now... but God only knows when I'll actually get it.
Hm, is it me or did I say "god knows" a lot in that section? Also, I was way snarky. Oh dear.
Muh, i want to be gardening but again with the working tomorrow, oy. Dave's at school until like the middle of the night tonight, so I don't know when I'll see him. I planted a couple more sweetpeas just now before the sun went down (actually, it was down, but it wasn't dark yet). I needs to plants me some herbs too... Muh.
Dave bought himself a hands-free very cool Bluetooth car adapter today with my credit card. (He was given some money for helping some friends develop a website, which I'll link to when it goes live, but he doesn't have PayPal and I do, so it's in my account, and to facilitate things I just said, ok boy, here's my credit card number. I feel sort of... trusting, or something.) So everybody's got to phone him up while he's driving. once it arrives.
Ohhh I'm tired, and not making sense. I have been a very boring livejournaler for weeks now. (looks back) Hell, I've been a very boring livejournaler for... we're coming up on three years now. No! Four years. This summer will be this blog's fourth birthday. Holy crap! Have I said anything worthwhile in that time? Maybe, maybe not. I am profoundly grateful to everyone who's read it and cared even a little bit about what it said. It's been a big part of my life. I should do something special for its birthday. :)
