collection of loonies
Mar. 26th, 2005 08:56 pmBeing so near Canada, and yet offering such a crappy exchange rate on Canadian currency, I wind up with Canadian money for tips sometimes.
I'm collecting loonies, apparently.
Which sounds cooler than it is.
We've got about $8 Canadian in the house at this point. Which is enough for, like, a coffee.
I ran and ran and ran today. It wasn't crazy, but was somewhat steady. I didn't feel busy, and in fact at times felt bored. But I wound up with $100 cash tips by the end of the night, which really gets my weekly total into shape. (I'd been privately a bit worried this week. Crap, forgot to pick up my paycheck today.)
I am tired, though. If you ask my hips, I definitely had over $600 in sales today. Most definitely. I also got a teeny bit of overtime because my last table took a while to deal with. They then handed me a $100 bill for a $75 tab and said "it's all set", so that rounded out the evening quite pleasantly really.
Me, I am a competent waitress but not a great one.
Our waitress at Red Lobster last night was an excellent one. I was impressed with her skillz.
I think I definitely prefer bartending to waitressing. But waitresses get tips in larger chunks. It's not that it's more lucrative, it's that you have fewer customers who you sell more to.
But anyway.
Yes, we went to Red Lobster for dinner last night. I'd never been. It's kind of a weird place. Dave's mom insisted, and also paid for everything, so I didn't complain one bit. Tonight Dave and I had Leftovers All Over for dinner. It wound up being pretty darn good. And kinda healthy.
We have Bert over now. She's sleeping on the couch at the moment. She was sooo so very happy to see us. She thought my pants smelled awesome.
Life is better with a fuzzy pet. On that note, I think I am going to go to sleep. Given that it's 9 pm and I'm sleepy.
