*zombie noise*
Mar. 20th, 2005 08:20 amUnhhnn. Brains!
Slept with my mouth open and my mouth tissues were like all dried out and gross. My tongue felt like plastic.
Got out of bed, staggered around, was dizzy, so am eating yogurt. I think I would prefer brains.
It's my mother's birthday today, as well as the first day of spring. Should I phone her up now, or later?
Last night I said "screw you" to the cold medicine, let it wear off, and took two of the dodgily-imported AC&C pills from Canada. (Aspirin, codeine, and caffeine.)
I felt fine, for a while. It was awesome. It was on that stuff that my head finally stopped hurting for a little bit, so now we know: whiskey, and codeine, but not together, are the answers.
Also my sinuses unclogged without drying out. Also my random body aches stopped. Also I stopped coughing and haven't coughed since.
Shrug. This morning there's a hard little knot of pain in my left cheek and I can't figure out whether it's subcutaneous, like a bruise, or actually in my sinus, which would be bad. It hurts when I poke it, which is inconclusive, and when i don't, which is equally uninformative. (It doesn't feel like anything but ouch when I poke it, though.) Also I'm totally unmanageably dizzy, but I'm assuming that has something to do with being hungry.
Dave's mom had a couple good suggestions for clinics that might make accomodations to give me cheap health care-- we did find one that said it had a sliding pay scale for the uninsured. So, no free clinics, but cheap. (Maybe.)
Unfortunately, none are open on the weekends, and while I have Monday off, Dave doesn't-- his car will be in Rochester with him from 10:30 am until 9 pm. RRGH. So I have no way of getting to any of these places unless I walk or take the bus, and the bus is... way beyond me.
Flipping through the ol' e-mail inbox this morning, and finding only bad news and autonotifications, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that it is time to go back to bed. You would think I would be tired of sleeping. But I am not. No. I cannot sleep enough. It is the awesomest thing, sleep. Yes. In fact, it is the only awesome thing.
