predawn whining
Mar. 19th, 2005 06:14 ampleeeeease make the pain stoppp.
I am so tired of this headache.
It has been seven days since the headache and the coughing started.
It has been 32 minutes since I took a fullstrength dose of Contac Cold & Flu.
It has been 1 hour and 3 minutes since I woke up coughing and couldn't get back to sleep.
It is four hours and 23 minutes until I have to leave for work.
It is two hours and 23 minutes until the deadline for me to call in sick.
If I do go in to work I am likely to make 30% of my weekly income today, or better. (Last week it was over 40% of my weekly cash total.)
At work they are unable to tell me how much longer I must work in order to qualify for health insurance: the HR lady is out on extended medical leave and she's the one who tracks it. I feel like I've been sick long enough now to go see a doctor about it, but I have no idea how much it would cost me to do so without insurance, and I have a very strong feeling the doctor will say, "Yes, this is a cold/ the flu. Go home and get plenty of rest."
"But I've spent four days of the last nine in bed!"
"Rest more."
"But I can't afford to miss work!"
"Why do you pay me for my professional opinion if you don't want to hear it?"
"..."
So I'm saving myself the money and just having the argument with myself. Effective, really.
I just wish the pain behind my eyes would go away. I'm not even asking for all the muscle pain from coughing to go away, or the obnoxious tendon-strains in my neck from coughing. Just my eyes. Please. This hurts and I'm so tired.

Date: 2005-03-21 02:47 am (UTC)Riverside High School students can get free sports physicals at Lighthouse, but only on Wednesdays; the AMA gave a grant to "the University of Buffalo-Lighthouse Free Medical Clinic, staffed by 100 student volunteers, is also open once a week, and focuses on a working class, largely African-American neighborhood." and a bio of a Mr. Brooks, "an active volunteer in both the Lighthouse Medical Clinic and the Refugee Health Program, both of which provide free medical care to underserved populations in Buffalo."
