dragonlady7Dave and I are about to embark upon a magical journey to that most magical of places-- the Broadway Market at easter-time. Oh yes. The old Polish market downtown in Buffalo, the oldest of its type, is a site of annual pilgrimage for almost all of Buffalo's inhabitants. It is The Place to get such seasonal specialties as the marjoram-and-sage-spiced special holiday sausage eaten in most Buffalonian households for Easter, and it's a great place to get good pierogies, cheap butter lambs, and inexpensive but odd cuts of meat like hog maws and trotters, and of course jaegerwurst and pepperette sausages. And with every duck you buy they'll throw in a free jar of duck blood. Just in case you want to make duck-blood soup. Because of course you'd want to.

Also, it is a good place to get Easter candy. :D
Me, I'm gonna sharpen my elbows: it can be a real zoo in there especially the week before Easter.
Oh, another note: I tried just now to make the phone post of the cheesy Irish song but I can't make it through half a verse without making gross coughing noises, so not yet. I may have to postpone my St. Pat's online celebration. I won't be vain enough to wait until my throat heals, but I'm going to avoid the singing-with-hacking-happening-mid-verse because that's just icky to listen to.

Apparently proud enough that that comment came across sounding really really bitchy-- sorry, when I wrote it I'd been coughing through an entire expedition so badly that I actually felt too sick to eat Easter candy, which should indicate that my situation was pretty dire.
Aw, I should've bought you a chocolate Jesus. I was holding the multi-pack of chocolate crucifixes in my hand and thinking, "Someone I know needs this so they can nibble his toes" but I couldn't remember who. Aww.
