Clocked out: 8:13.
Mmm-hmm. Was a long day. Busy-busy from 9-1:45, then sat on my ass in the Club and did jack-shit. Had a nice conversation with Mario the Furnace Cop (he's an NFTA cop who comes into the club, as most of them do, to bum coffee and chat with the US Air Club Counter Girls; He also does furnace work on the side, hence the moniker), and he informed me he's been looking for a TV for me. (A couple weeks ago I confessed to him and Judy (one of the US Air ladies) that I didn't own a TV and they decided I was some sort of intellectual.)
He also uttered the following line, in reference to his dual Irish/Italian ethnicity, and the fact that the North Buffalo Italians (most of whom work for GM) and the South Buffalo Irish (most of whom work for Ford) all hate each other: "So my friends are like, what, you're Irish and Italian? Whaddaya do, get drunk and beat yourself up?"
Which I think I've heard elsewhere, but it was amusing from a guy carrying not only a gun but also pepper spray and a walkie-talkie.
So if you need any furnace work done, lemme know. I know a guy.
After work we went to Papa Jake's for a fish fry and it was... Well, the waitress came by to ask how everything was, and I said, through a mouthful of food, enthusiastically, "Fuckin' good, man!" She laughed.
I have a hankering for some out-of-town friend to visit so I can take them out for a real Buffalo fish fry.
Oog, I am tired.
I am working Saturday (6 hours), Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday all 8.25 hours, and Friday 8 hours.
This next paycheck had better be good. Cuz there won't be much by way of tips in between.
