I had a lovely Imbolc evening. It had nothing to do with any of the traditional means of celebration, but it worked for me as a very personal and private little fete. Just us two and, well, we splurged and turned the heat up, which meant that snuggling didn't have to be the primary focus...
Anyhow. It was nice to sort of... reconnect, to actually pay attention to each other, and to just play and have fun for a while.

I'm talking, of course, about Yahtzee.

(Just kidding. Maybe. Am I really that sad and pathetic? Maybe.)

mmmm, Yahtzee.

I could really go for some Yahtzee right now.

But instead, I'm drowning in cookie money, and none of it is right, and none of it makes sense, and I'm going to go insane. If I was good at counting money, I would be an accoutant. Or a sales clerk. Something. Not a reporter, in which I never touch money.
Damn it, now my cat is sticking his head into the manila envelope with all the money in it, and is trying to pull the money out with his teeth.
I need to play a nice game right now. Reality is too much for me.

Send me your money. i count really well.

Here's a hint. If you're having real trouble with, say, ones, set every tenth one aside. Then, at the end, if you've grown confused, you can count the pile and know how many tens you had. (If there are nine ones in the pile, then there were ninety in the other one.)

With tens and fives and the like, I tend to set the pile I'm counting down at every hundred, so if I lose count I only have to count since the last hundred. Then, if I'm really having trouble with being off, I can count each pile of a hundred individually to be sure I haven't made any errors.

I have to count a $300 bank every day, so...

I didn't actually play Yahtzee. I was lying. I've never played Yahtzee.

It was terrible...almost $1,900 to count. And of the six scouts who sold cookies, only two actually gave me the right amount of money. Amother one is $6 short because she hasn't delivered the last of her cookies, but at least I know about that one. The other three? Who knows. My records show that one girl has one box she doesn't have money for, and another has five boxes unpaid. And the third girl...she said she had one box left to deliver. But she's $15 short, which is five boxes. arggg.

It's hell, I tell you. Tomorrow I have to divide up the money, figuring out how much the cookie company gets, how much the council gets, how much the troop gets...HELP!

At least it wasn't Scrabble.

(Sounds like a lovely, relaxing evening. You've been due one of those for a while, darl.)

I love Scrabble. Dave hates Scrabble. Dave loves Hearts. I hate Hearts.
We're time-passing-game incompatible. (Sniffle.)

But it was a lovely relaxing evening and yes, I feel I deserved it.

However, i didn't get anything else done and thus have sort of wasted my 'weekend', and won't be getting another one for a few weeks. Bah. Oh well.
