I had a lovely Imbolc evening. It had nothing to do with any of the traditional means of celebration, but it worked for me as a very personal and private little fete. Just us two and, well, we splurged and turned the heat up, which meant that snuggling didn't have to be the primary focus...
Anyhow. It was nice to sort of... reconnect, to actually pay attention to each other, and to just play and have fun for a while.
I'm talking, of course, about Yahtzee.
(Just kidding. Maybe. Am I really that sad and pathetic? Maybe.)

Date: 2005-02-03 03:17 pm (UTC)I could really go for some Yahtzee right now.
But instead, I'm drowning in cookie money, and none of it is right, and none of it makes sense, and I'm going to go insane. If I was good at counting money, I would be an accoutant. Or a sales clerk. Something. Not a reporter, in which I never touch money.
Damn it, now my cat is sticking his head into the manila envelope with all the money in it, and is trying to pull the money out with his teeth.
I need to play a nice game right now. Reality is too much for me.

Date: 2005-02-03 11:50 pm (UTC)Here's a hint. If you're having real trouble with, say, ones, set every tenth one aside. Then, at the end, if you've grown confused, you can count the pile and know how many tens you had. (If there are nine ones in the pile, then there were ninety in the other one.)
With tens and fives and the like, I tend to set the pile I'm counting down at every hundred, so if I lose count I only have to count since the last hundred. Then, if I'm really having trouble with being off, I can count each pile of a hundred individually to be sure I haven't made any errors.
I have to count a $300 bank every day, so...
I didn't actually play Yahtzee. I was lying. I've never played Yahtzee.

Date: 2005-02-03 11:51 pm (UTC)We're time-passing-game incompatible. (Sniffle.)
But it was a lovely relaxing evening and yes, I feel I deserved it.
However, i didn't get anything else done and thus have sort of wasted my 'weekend', and won't be getting another one for a few weeks. Bah. Oh well.
