too weird to live and too rare to die
Jan. 16th, 2005 09:38 pmLake-effect snow advisories are in effect for tonight and tomorrow.
Sweet.
I have tomorrow off and would love nothing more than some snow-angels in the front yard. Yay!!
I had $0 in cash sales today. It was surreal.
And... and... I think I finished Ch. 4!!!
It needs yet more rewriting, and there are two places where I said [continued from earlier bit I don't have in front of me] so continuity will be an issue, but yes! Making myself write it at work when i'm bored out of my mind? Good idea!
I was so bored.
So, so bored.
And, the only team in football I still kind of liked (hey, when you're a bartender you see a lot of football. Esp. if you bartend on Sunday nights) is out now. (I just think Peyton Manning is just such a nice young man. But yes, the Patriots totally outclassed them. Those guys are a freaking machine.) So that's a bummer.
Also i seem to have some sort of splinter under one of my fingernails. Yow, bummer.
But, i finished Ch. 4, which is the one that stopped me dead the week after Thanksgiving. So, I am Progressing on The Vikings Novel. I have much to do on that front tomorrow, and Ch. 3 will be posted as scheduled at noon. I even had enough time (did I mention it was a slow shift?) to start working on a later scene, that'll probably be in Ch. 5 or 6-- I had the rough draft printed out with me so I rewrote it.
The whole novel's focus is shifting from being rather tritely centered around the romance, to having there be deeper implications to it all.
Not very deep, mind you. But deepish. Deeper than the sort of adolescent tone of the thing before.
Oh yes.
So, am feeling good about that. (Moody much? Yes. But when we're on the up-side of it, we likes that, yes we does, precious, and we tries to cling to that and get things done. Yess.) (Uh, channeling Gollum = not good. We're ignoring that, yess.)
I should graph my mood. It'd look like a... um... thing that goes up and down a lot. Yes. There we go. Wit! I have some!
I'm gonna go shut up now. Whee!

Date: 2005-01-17 06:23 am (UTC)I just... I don't know them, at all, and I kinda vaguely liked the Colts just because I've been a mild Peyon fan for a while. So I was sad that the Colts lost.
I guess it was cool when the Pats won the Super Bowl last year. i dunno.
I have nothing against them. They seem to be a super-awesome team, skill-wise. The game was good. I just... I don't even think I know their quarterback's name. So it makes it hard to root for them.
Shrug. I'll probably watch the Super Bowl while at work.

TOM BRADY
um...I'll stop now.
Actually, I used to be a Buffalo Bills fan. But that got rather depressing after the first two Superbowl losses, you know? There's only so long that you can say, "My team is second best!"
So now I'm cheering on the Patriots, which is a wholly different experience. I mean, they WON last year. I like cheering for underdogs who manage to win at the last minute. I'm not used to teams that know what they're doing BEFORE the third quarter...

Date: 2005-01-18 12:54 pm (UTC)I find it kind of difficult to be compelled by the overwhelming overdogs. "We've won our last twenty consecutive home games. Cheer for us!"
"You don't need me."
