Cold has drastically worsened, migrating from throat to sinuses. Ears are affected, which worries me-- having no health insurance, getting treatment if this becomes an ear infection could be difficult. But at least it didn't turn out to be tonsilitis, the scourge of my uninsured past. Blechh, I hate tonsilitis.
I have shopping to do today, for all the family members whose gifts I couldn't afford before Christmas. Also, I have gift certificates to spend-- more work clothes, yay!
Am worrying moderately-- I have another 15-hour day tomorrow, and if the cold stays the same or, God forbid, worsens, I am wondering how on earth I'll make it through. Should I pre-emptively call in sick to one of the jobs? If so, which one? I should make a poll.
If I'm too sick, which work should I call into?
a) Both. Who needs to pay bills? They can wait.
b) The one that's much more stressful (but you make more money)-- just save yourself the stress and sort out the money later.
c) The one that's easy but makes less money-- work the more stressful one, make more money, and then get some sleep.
d) Neither. C'mon, buck up, woman: You got bills to pay!
But that's a question to face down early tomorrow morning, depending on how many naps I get today. Still not doing well with the sleeping, which is unusual for me, but I bet I could spend the afternoon asleep given the opportunity.
Right. Shopping first. Then napping. Then I have a ton of crap to catch up on. The last three days have been so bizarrely, endlessly long, it feels like I've been working forever. What can I say? I guess I'm just fundamentally lazy. Dave was laughing at me when I said "Finally! A day off!" "Well," he said, "Most people work five days in a row. Every week."
Yes, but that doesn't mean I'm not exhausted. So fie on him for interjecting perspective. I have no perspective. I need no perspective. I cannot comprehend perspective.
Oh, I will post my Christmas post later too if I regain sufficient brain function.
