I have now seen two movies this year. Just watched Attack the Block, because baby (teenage) John Boyega, and it is the most adorable gory horror thriller I’ve ever seen, I think.
Would not have worked with a lesser actor, I think– John as Moses plays a very stoic character, who rarely speaks, and while it’s hard to use the word “understated” when he katanas an alien and has a climactic sequence that involves blowing himself out a window with a gas explosion, his heroic arc is in fact best described along that vein.
I sort of can’t wait for him to be in every movie, though. I hope that works out for him. I want him to be in everything.
I gotta slow my roll though because like, I usually watch less than five movies a year and I’m at two already.
